TRUTH Paranormal Investigation Team was founded in Bradford, PA in January of 2008, and is made up of six members. We are a non-profitable organization. We offer no fee for our services. Our founder and lead investigator is Tim Ludwig, who came up with the idea after being a fan of Ghost Hunters (TAPS) and also from a past experience of the paranormal. Co-founder and investigator Shawn Whitsell, has also had paranormal experiences. After talking with Tim, they both agreed to form their own team. Now they needed members who shared the same passion and ideology of Ghost Hunters (TAPS) and who had a genuine interest in the paranormal. So one evening at Tim's house a group of friends and family got together and discussed the idea. They had who they needed, Mike Crowley, a good friend of Ludwigs, is the Orb specialist. Co-worker Bill Harris became EMF Tech. Mark Henry, a long time friend became Case Manager. Update: In 2011 TRUTH added its newest member Dave Doloway.
TRUTH P.I.T.'s number one goal is to find out the truth for our clients to the best of our ability. We go into every investigation with an open mind, and also try to debunk any claims of activity. Our basic equipment consists of Digital Voice Recorders, EMF Detectors, Infrared Cameras, Handheld Cameras, K2 Meters, Thermometers, Motion Detectors, laser grid, ghost box, and of course Flashlights. We DO NOT use the aid of psychics or mediums (sensitives). We DO NOT use anything to envoke a spirit, such as a ouija board, divining rods or anything of that nature. Our findings are based upon what was possibly caught with the scientific equipment and our own knowledge and experience. We try and be open minded and not totally base something upon our own feeings (such as saying a room may or may not be active based upon what we personally feel or think upon entering it). We let the evidence that may have been caught speak for itself. We will mention any personal experiences to the client but yet inform them that we do not souly base our findings and final analysis on them. Before any investigation, we talk over the claims of activity with the clients and have them sign a disclaimer if all is a go, we then proceed with an investigation. The disclaimer protects us from any mishaps that may occur during the investigation. After all equip. is set up and everyone is briefed, we begin our investigation.
Starting out in groups of two or three, depending on if the homeowner joins us, we designate certain areas of the site. When each team is finished with their session, (30 mins to 1 hour), they come out and may review, document, and record their findings, if any. These findings are not revealed to the other team members to avoid "power of suggestion". Only if something major is discovered, then the team leader is told exclusively. When all members have had time to investigate and all information is gathered, equipment is then taken down and the owner is notified that we are finished.
Each investigator is responsible for going over his/her own evidence. When something is "found", it is brought to the attention of the team leader and other members individually. This can help get different opinions on what was caught. After everyone has had a chance to review the data, we get together as a group and talk about what we think it is or isn't. All evidence is then recorded onto paper for the client to have and to read over, along with an extra copy which is kept on file. Any video or audio evidence is shown to the client during our reveal. The client is allowed to keep any evidence and is asked if we can share the findings with the public. Some of this evidence may show up on our website.
